Happy New Year!
Hello all, Happy 2009 to you all, hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year holiday.
I myself have had way too much fun and have full intention on hitting the gym as much as I possibly can! My own T-shirt collection had some additions over the Christmas (well, Boxing Day to be precise!), mainly some great designer gear in the sales, House of Fraser always my first port of call for my fave labels, Diesel, Firetrap, G-Star and Superdry, managed to get a few items for less than half price so was extremely pleased with myself! Although trying them on at home wasn’t quite as much fun upon discovering that I may have put on a bit of weight over the last few weeks, damn those Mince Pies and my mum’s cooking! Great designs, nothing we couldn’t do ourselves here at Reinspire if only we came up with the idea sooner!
Unless you haven’t realised it already, Celebrity Big Brother has begun once again on Channel 4, a random and rather interesting selection of so called celebrities this year, can’t say I’m a huge fan anymore but on occasion I can’t help but monitor the goings on in the house..whilst also noticing more often than not, what is being worn (or NOT WORN! in some cases) by the housemates (surprisingly, checking out what the people on the box are wearing and then copying it is something that everyone is doing?! always handy to see what certain people have in their wardrobes I suppose!, Ben (A1 erm fame) is around my age and style so it may be good to see what he’s clobbering up in, perhaps a few style ideas may be worth “stealing” after all.
The usual rules apply this year, no named t-shirts or labels to be shown so most of the inmates, oops I mean housemates are wearing relatively plain gear on the whole, personally I would have come up with a few ideas myself before going in and printed some t-shirts off to perhaps promote myself and make things a little bit more interesting, couldn’t hurt could it?
Whilst we’re on the subject, what t-shirts are the Celebs wearing at the moment? Flick through any magazine and you will see a range of actors, pop icons or general celeb hangers-on wearing either the latest trends even before the rest of us catch on or humorously sporting a simple yet effective slogan across their chosen style of t-shirt, blatantly trying to blag a headline or swing a bit of gossip in Heat or whatever your poison is, this month.
Americans at the moment are showing support for their newest President by wearing positive and vibrant t-shirts declaring their approval and loyalty, Halle Berry, Madonna and Ryan Phillipe to name but a few.
This isn’t a new idea either, who can forget Madonna wearing an “I love Britney” t-shirt back a few years ago at one of her concerts, encouraging a whole domino effect of Pop princesses declaring their allegiance with each other by wearing glittery T’s saying as much.
More and more high profile faces seem to be a bit bored with wearing the same old labels and looks and are either creating their own designs (yeah right, can just imagine Timblerlake and Beyonce with a heat press and some vinyl) or picking up some individuality in random bespoke stores which sell something a little different. Paris Hilton, recently wore a t-shirt in a rather un-subtle manner, stating that she believes herself to be “Hotter than I should be”, whilst Amy Winehouse decided to mock herself by wearing a simple T that states “REHAB is for quitters”, unsure whether she wore that before she went in or when she came out.
Whatever the case, it seems that there is a rather large niche in the fashion market for a bit of fun and individuality, and if those famous people among us think so, who are we to argue!
