More Retro T-Shirts

Friday, February 13th, 2009

It may be slightly geeky of me but I am LOVING the revamp of the eighties t-shirts! Anything from cereals to old Saturday morning cartoons are being used and I just can’t get enough!

Check out Next’s recent addition to their stock! The “Stay Puffed Marshmallow man” of Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Elmo and even the HONEY MONSTER(!) have made an appearance!

Valentine’s day tomorrow boys and girls! Get your loved one a fun t-shirt that they’re sure to love! And if you’re not old enough to remember what’s on the t-shirt then erm…who cares! They’re fab!

LOVE IT!

T-Shirt of the week | Part 1

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Drum roll please!

Amazing retro (can’t believe I’m saying retro when referring to something that isn’t that old!) t-shirt displaying the destruction of the well known hand held phenomenon that is the Game Boy!

A simple enough design, plain t-shirt with an exploding item showing all its components flying away, this type of expressionist design is being used quite a lot at the moment, the advertising world is also using the same idea (Direct Line Insurance and Channel 4 have both done so effectively recently), what I love about this design are the novel elements that are coming from the device, as well as the batteries and inner workings, some references are made to the most famous games featured from Nintendo, you can clearly see the Mario Brothers’ caps flying in the air, or the ladders and barrels from Donkey Kong!

All in all a novel and striking retro t-shirt that would be appreciated by anyone who either loved or still loves their consoles or anyone after something that little bit different!

Check it out!

Red Nose Day T-Shirts

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

For those of you wanting an official Red Nose Day Limited Edition T-shirt this year, TK Maxx are the official retailers and they can be purchased in store or at the Red Nose Day website.

Designed by Stella Mcartney and modelled by David Walliams of Little Britain fame and Keira Knightly, the t-shirt this year is something of a retro pop art extravaganza with white t-shirts printed with a black and white images of some of the world’s best known icons seemingly wearing red noses. Madonna, The Beatles and Morcambe and Wise(!) all posing wearing the unmistakable noses! Aimed at the fashionista’s amongst us, this year they are trying to poke their nose (get it?) into perhaps a broader area of the younger crowd to get much needed support for such a worthwhile cause.

Pick up one now and some of the proceeds will go towards the Red Nose Day fund which helps people in the third world and some of the UK’s poorest people.

What am I going to put on Dave’s stag T-Shirt?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

for-the-ladiesJudging from the phone calls and emails we’ve received recently, it seems quite a few of you are making preparations for the big day in 2009!

Obviously with that comes the obligatory Stag and Hen nights respectively (or not as the case may be!).

It’s not always as easy as it sounds coming up with a t-shirt design for the big night out, you either want something bold and outrageous to tell everyone the reason you are out, or you want

something tasteful and subtle so as not to arouse too much attention when you’re trying to get into a club!

If you’re a little bit stuck with ideas, why not take a gander at a few of the designs we have on our site or alternatively use one of our most popular logos and add some text to it to make it yours! They can be printed in a variety of fonts and colours, including sparkly and metallic. See some examples below of what we can do for you, and if you have any ideas, let us know and we’ll come up with

something for you!

For the boys

Musical T-Shirts

Monday, February 9th, 2009

No, they haven’t come back, fortunately I am not referring to that 80’s  fad that was the T-shirt that whistles a little ditty tune to you when you press a cleverly hidden button (cold shivers ensue!) I am instead referring to the relevance of Fashion in the music industry!

Not only are more and more people urged to emulate their favourite pop acts, actors, Z-listers and celebrity sportees (lest we forget Posh and Becks, who hasn’t seen one of his or her clothes and thought “I want one of those”?) by wearing the latest trends, labels and looks but t-shirts themselves are now becoming the subject of songs!

Today’s prime example is the new single aptly called “T-Shirt” by Shontelle, a wicked RnB number that’s sure to hit the charts with a bang sometime soon….but I have to say, I just love the fact that the song’s lyrics and the main theme of the song is in fact about…a T-Shirt!!! Take a look! I dare you not to love it!

Weird, Wacky | Downright strange

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

I made the decision last night to delve into the wider world of t-shirt designs and to explore the strange and unusual things (I sound like a Star Trek episode!) that people are buying; there may be trends towards certain styles and images in certain areas, who knows! I’ve taken it upon myself to find out!

I will also be announcing every week my favourite t-shirt design from the many websites, stores and other random places from around the globe that I come across …judge how you will on my eclectic and diverse tastes, I will scour the land for the most outrageous and interesting items I can find!

This week’s favourite is the “One Hundred” design t-shirt from Ugmonk, a simple white t-shirt with a funky use of numbers and bold colours, the overlapping of the colours makes this design that little bit different, considering buying one myself infact!

Ugmonk was established in 2008 by a designer called Jeff Sheldon; a graphic designer based in USA, specialising in the art of mixing the human qualities of hand drawn art with the sophistication of today’s digital design software.

Who are we to argue, back to basics is the most simple way to get a great result obviously.

Check out the website, there are plenty of funky and edgy designs to be found.

Hooded Sweatshirts News

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Found a few cool hoodies around the high street recently, despite the undesirable stereotype of the garment over the last few years, hooded sweatshirts have fast become quite the style item; check out some of my faves:

Funky neon music lover’s hoody

Retro Vintage hoody

Or for those of you who are on a bit of a budget or aren’t really a label lover, I thoroughly recommend our Fruit of the Loom Baseball Hoodies!

A funky two colour hoody that is not only very comfy and warm to wear but looks great! It doesn’t need a design or a label, its trendy-ness speaks for itself! I own one myself in white and black!

Red Nose Day, Snowballs, Pooches | oh my!

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

It’s SNOWING! Well, it is in some parts of the country but alas not here in South Wales just yet. It’s pretty cold out there though people so make sure to wrap up warm.

Friday 13th of March is this year’s Red Nose Day…all the usual festivities are happening, fundraising, BBC1 will be taken over for the entire night for celebs to make fools of themselves and beg us to dig deep into our already empty pockets for the much needed money by this worthwhile charity. If you, your work place or social group are thinking of doing something fun or in deed making a fool of yourselves in public all in the name of charideee then why not make the event even more fun by telling the world why you are dressed as a naughty nurse, or why you have no trousers on, printed t-shirts can be the easiest and cheapest way of doing so, and it goes without saying that you should make sure to at least buy a red nose, they’re quite fun this year, each one has a different face to reflect our wonderful and diverse personalities.
